MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to empower young student athletes in the Tampa area to be the best they can be on and off the basketball court.  We aim to have our players strive to develop their confidence, leadership skills, ambition, good sportsmanship and overall desire to succeed.  All in a fun, competitive and positive environment that will create memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

The Organization

The Tampa Bay Bounty Hunters is a non-profit, AAU youth travel basketball organization who believe in the fundamentals of the game and seek to optimize our players athletic and leadership abilities.   Our boys & girls are not only basketball players, but members of our community as well.  So, we strive to have our players be the best they can be on and off the court.  Not only through athletic development, but character building as well.  We are not just a team, but a family outside of the gymnasium as well.  We will often have team outings and special events that reinforce the bond these young kids will develop.  If you're looking for your son or daughter to develop their basketball and life skills in a safe, competitive and FUN environment, come join the Bounty Hunter family!

The Teams

The boys and girls each have 2 teams: the JV Team and the Varsity Team.  The JV Team consists of those players, 5th grade to 8th grade.  The Varsity Team consists of high school level players.  Middle schoolers, who have the right combination of skill and hard work, can and are encouraged to "play up" to Varsity level basketball.

Try-Outs

Try-outs are FREE and held in the Tampa / Wesley Chapel area.  Players are evaluated on their shooting, passing and ball handling skills.  As well as their sportsmanship, attitudes and effort.   We are a year-round basketball program so try-outs are held 4 times per year and only for those teams that have open positions available.  Each team will have a roster of 12 players, max.

Everything from form shooting and dribbling under pressure, to defensive and offensive basketball IQ.  Your child will learn the skills necessary to take their game to the next level.

Basketball practices are held once a week in the off-season and 2 times per week during tournament season, typically 2 hours in length.  Practices are held in the Tampa / Wesley Chapel area. Every practice ends with the application of what was learned in real life situations.

We travel and participate in AAU tournaments throughout the Southeast region of the United States.  Your child will get exposure to college recruiters who represent some of the most prestigious basketball programs in the nation.
